This 78-page illustrated manual resulted from a year-long study to develop design recommendations for all of Brooklyn’s branch libraries.
The Brooklyn Public Library Design Guidelines were created to assist architects, designers and engineers in the renovation and new construction for the Brooklyn Public Library system. The goal of the guidelines is to promote good design at Brooklyn's branch libraries and enhance the level of accessibility, mobility and security in each library. Since publication, more than half of the branch libraries has followed our Guidelines to create more inviting and accessible libraries.
